Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian, who's been performing for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. The comedian appeared on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is an Irish comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea began her stand-up comedy career in the year 2011, following appearances as a guest on a variety of Irish television shows and British series since the year 2009. After 2012 she had been appearing in sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms and similar programs. Following her win during the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, she was invited to appear on a number of panel programs. Between 2016 and 2017 she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Team, as well as a participant of the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. The parents of her were Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. She has a younger sister, Sinead. In 2012, she was the second female to win the So You Believe you're Funny award. She uses the surnamed Bea in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born on the 16th of March, 1984 at Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian who was an equine vet, who committed suicide after Bea turned three was the sufferer of self-harm. The news of his passing at 13 years old. In 2017 she published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family. She also took on the stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea and her younger sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) who was a secondary school teacher, jockey trainer, and former professional jockey. Their family was horse and race meeting obsessed. Bea was a child a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she didn't want a racing career. Instead, she was drawn to the performance arts.
