John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs that he wrote, many of them situated in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have inspired many people to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver was by far one of the top performers who embodies Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado for many people across the globe. In my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting individuals who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is"Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short time in small folk groups. Danoff originally wrote it with Johnny Cash's music in mind, but Denver knew from the first moment he listened to the earlier versions that it could be a huge hit. The singer recorded the song just a few days later after performing it to the awe-inspiring crowd on the streets of Washington D.C.
